April Ross
April Ross was one of just a handful of women beach volleyball athletes who earned medals during several Olympics. In Tokyo over the next several days, she'll be aiming to claim her third Olympic medal along with the first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. In addition, Ross hopes to win her very first Olympic gold. There is a chance that she has one chance, at 39 years old. However, she's convinced that top prizes can be achieved. Ross said on NBC Boston: "If we perform our best and if we just play well I believe we can get the gold medal." Also, it's an issue of luck. Ross was born on the 22nd, 1982 in Costa Mesa California. She resided in the area with her family. At Newport Harbor High School, she played in a variety of sports. She was a basketball player and also ran track, in addition to her volleyball skills in the indoors as a prep athlete. But she clearly was a cut above the rest in the latter sport. The college bio says that she was an outside-hitting hitter middle blocker, as well as a setter during her volleyball career in high school. The results of her efforts were acknowledged when she was named 1999 Gatorade's Circle of Champions National Players of the Year. In 2000, she was awarded the Orange County Athlete of the year for volleyball. While Ross Klineman and Ross have been doing their thing since the year 2017, Klineman was already a big-time player on the beach scene even before the pair formed. It's true that she's won multiple big tournaments as well as one of her partners was an all-star volleyball player. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 to the year 2013. Together together with Kessy Ross was awarded an Olympic Title in 2009 while competing internationally. This duo went through to take home a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. The Misty Maytreanor legendary team along with Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. Ross Jennings replaced May-Treanor when she retired. They won the bronze medal in beach volleyball during the Rio Olympics in 2016. After high school and years before she hit the sand as a pro Ross was a ball with the Trojans of USC as a collegiate. Her experience at USC was impressive. As a freshmen in 2000 Her performance was rewarded with the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Young Player of the Year awards. The Trojans could also make it to the Final Four with her help. During her sophomore year she suffered a tremendous personal setback, but she was able to make it back as an All-American. Through her two final years in the Trojans program, she guided the Trojans to winning a national title every time. The individual accomplishments of her have established her as a volleyball legend. She was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the best female college player. Ross was an international relations major at USC. Margie Ross never saw her daughter reach the top in beach volleyball. Ross suffered the loss of her mother to breast cancer in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. But, she will always remember her deceased parent close and close. Margie is a source of inspiration, both off and on of the shore.
